Description
The common cormorant (or shag)
Lays eggs inside a paper bag,
You follow the idea, no doubt?
It is to keep the lightning out.
But what these unobservant birds
Have not thought of, is that herds
Of wandering bears might come with buns
And steal the bags to hold their crumbs.
Christopher Isherwood (1904-1986)
What further introduction does a Cormorant (or Shag) require? Anyone who has been to the coast will have seen these enchanting birds, diving for fish, drying their wings or (as is the case here) standing upright, alert for whatever might come their way.
These necklaces are made from original models, hand-carved by me and then cast and finished with 18 inch silver chains in my little workshop in Truro.
Please allow up to 4 weeks for your necklaces to be made. I do try to keep a stock of most of my animals but this is not always possible all the time.
These necklaces are solid sterling silver and will cause no nickel allergies. They are available in gold plated or a black oxisided finish. Please be aware that if you apply silver polish to the dark variety, it will take the black finish off!
